Independent Marketing Contractor Married 2 389 I've taken the usual meandering path - college at UCDavis, graduated with a Food Science/Nutrition degree, then spent 11 yrs. at Wells Fargo in various finance and marketing positions until I mommy-tracked myself out. Got married to a great guy, got the house, had the 2.0 kids (1 girl, 1 boy) and stayed home a while for the soccer-mom bit. I've gone back into marketing as an independent contractor and enjoy working from home and the flexibility to travel, volunteer, have fun, etc.
It was great seeing everyone at the reunion! Stay in touch. And for those of you who weren't there, I'd love to hear from you.

Full-time Mother, Student and Domestic Engineer / Part-time Student Worker and Merchandiser
Divorced 5 about 20 Right after high school I started working full-time for California Federal Saving and Loans and I quickly became the branch's vault teller and teller trainer. I married in 1981 and over the next twenty years I was blessed to give birth to five beautiful children four sons and one daughter, Brian 26 yrs., Derrick 24 yrs, Johanna 18 yrs, Jeffrey 16 yrs, and Kevin 15 yrs. I loved working for the bank but, I loved being a stay at home mom more, so for nineteen years I began my life as a stay at home wife and mother. Then I was divorced in 2002 and I began a new life as a signal parent, full-time student and I worked part time on campus. So, it's safe to say my life has been crazy busy raising and enjoying my children as well as enjoying school as one of the oldest students on campus. However, age did not stop me as I quickly became the oldest Phi Theta Kappa honor student on campus! Ha Ha life's Funny. Well on campus I had the pleasure of working in Student Activities helping students, student government, professors, and staff. Though, some of my most recent events enjoyed on campus was being chosen to be part of a team to build houses on spring break in Alabama after Hurricane Katrina; I was also sent to Sacramento to speak before the Senate regarding school block grants and with my children cheering me on I believe I was the oldest student to ever receive the highest award on campus, The Presidential Award. Crazy Funny! Yet, it has been more fulfilling spending time with my children, whether I am mom at home, a cheerleader at their events and competition, or being Athletic Director on the field for my boy's football teams. I am exhausted but I love it! One of our favorite things to do every year is camping on Doheny's Beach it helps us to get away from our busy lives at home. Sooooo, by now you are probably wondering why I have shared so much with all of you. Well, 30 years is a long time and now you are all up to speed on my life so now I can just enjoy seeing all of you at our reunion. Blessings to you all :)

Hey Wildcats, I just looked at the list of who is coming and I can’t believe how many of you have not even posted a brief update.  COME ON guys this is for the memory book there is only about 90 who have posted and over 130 are coming to the reunion.  Okay, lets get over the fact that we are all older, some of us have gained a little or a lot of weight but we are the class of “79” and let’s show some respect, appreciation, and gratitude to our classmate who has taken on the task of bring us all together, she has done a great job. Sooooo, come on, and just do it! And as for those of you who had posted before me, you all deserve a Wildcat Paw Print award because you guys are all awesome!!

Retired Widowed 3 425 After completing graduation requirements for Wilson in my Junior year and getting early acceptance into college, I deferred entrance to fulfill a childhood goal of being a foreign exchange student for one year in Germany...thanks to Mrs. McMillan, my 5th grade teacher at Grazide, for sharing a film about foreign exchange students; it changed my life forever! While over there I had the chance to travel Europe for two solid months via youth hostels and a Eurail Pass...being 18 years old and traveling alone is definitely a way to overcome shyness! Upon my return I attended Scripps College in Claremont where I majored in Modern German Studies and had the opportunity to study abroad for a year at Heidelberg University. Of course I went and once again hit the European trains with my backpack and Eurail Pass for another two months during school break. While attending Heidelberg I also worked as a cocktail waitress in the evenings on an Army base nearby, but that's a whole other story. Shortly after graduation I started work at Allstate Insurance and have been with the company ever since...just had my 25th anniversary. I started in Underwriting and moved-up the ranks, but then shifted over to Sales. My territory now is the Bay Area. I managed to keep my travel bug fulfilled getting to Tahiti, Hawaii, Mexico, and Europe again. Many of you know my husband from Grazide/Mesa Robles/Wilson, David Vicario...we lived on the same street! We dated while in high school and a little into college then our lives took different directions. Although we were both living out our crazy 20's in different ways, we remained best friends and eventually married in 1991. We have three wonderful children: Zachary 21 on a solid path to becoming a firefighter and paramedic soon, Jeremy 16 a sophomore in high school who spends his free time playing baseball and restoring a 64 VW Bus (anyone remember my 59 VW Rag Top?) and Hannah 13 in 8th grade who is a total extrovert and cheerleader. We spent as much time as possible with David's family who still reside in So Cal and are all Wilson graduates: Terri'79, Monica'81 and Andre'88. We moved to El Dorado Hills in Northern California 11 years ago and absolutely love it. Our town reminds us a lot of old Hacienda Heights. We wouldn't miss the reunion, however David was diagnosed with adrenal cancer this past summer and just had his left kidney removed. In addition, they found an AVM on his brain that he'll go through a Gamma Knife procedure this month. Travel is just out of the question right now. Wishing everyone a good time. Health and happiness to all.
