Teacher/Curriculum Specialist Married 2 50 Wow, thirty years! Where has the time gone? After high school I went to Biola College for a couple of years. I had planned on going into nursing, and Biola had a great nurse practitioner program. After the first year I decided that I really wanted a career in education, and it's been a great choice for me. I then transferred to Cal Poly Pomona where I earned my undergraduate degree in Liberal Studies. I began my teaching career with teaching 6th grade in private school at St. Mark's Lutheran School in Hacienda Heights - at the time public schools were only hiring substitutes and I wanted my own classroom. I had a great first year teaching experience there. From there I worked in Los Angeles for a couple of years, then moved back to the Heights where I began teaching at Rowland Unified. I began in elementary, but wound up starting teaching Junior High. In my ten years in the Rowland district I had the opportunity to teach social studies, language arts, reading and ESL. It was during that time that I met my husband, Steve Bellomo. Back in high school I had heard about a social club in L.A. for tall people: the Tip Toppers Club. I took a chance and started going to some of their social events. As it turns out, there are many tall clubs not just in California, but internationally. Orange County also has a tall club, and at one of their monthly dances (the Valentine dance---too cute, huh?) I met simply the best man I've ever known. He's a software engineer for Boeing. (And yes, he's tall: 6' 8"!) We live in San Juan Capistrano and have been together over twenty years. We have two children: our son, Trevor, (18) and our daughter, Cassandra - or Cassie, as we call her at home (13). When Trevor was 2? years old, he was diagnosed as Autistic. I admit that it's been a challenge over the years, but I've come to realize that everyone out there has a story and their own set of personal challenges. I'm no different than anyone else. Trev is in an adult transition program for developmentally disabled adults, and we're very pleased that the transition has been a very smooth one. Cassie is on the other end of the spectrum: Straight A student, honors classes and a passion for art and musical drama. They have both been blessings and I have learned so much from each of my children. After Cassie was born, I transferred to the Santa Ana Unified School District. The daily drive from San Juan Capistrano to La Puente was just too much. A few years ago, I decided it was high time I pursued my master's degree. I earned my master's in teaching as a reading specialist, and after 24 years in the classroom, the opportunity presented itself for a career change. Last year I left the classroom to become a curriculum specialist at the District Office for the English Learners Programs and Student Achievement department. It's been a challenge, but I've really enjoyed the opportunity to apply my education and experience in another venue. As far as recreation goes, our opportunities to travel have been limited due to Trevor's disability, but we do get up to see my mom in northern California each summer. She lives in Trinidad--- a little coastal community up in the redwoods about 30 miles north of Eureka. It's cool, green and lovely. In the winter months, my mom usually stays with us in an apartment we added to our home when my father came to live with us in 1994. Sadly, my daddy passed away in 2002, but having daddy's apartment has made it possible for mama to be with us and help us with Trevor while she's down visiting. Regarding my interests, I've done some singing and teaching vacation bible school at my church, and I had a chance to create some writing lessons for the McDougal Littel Publishers for their next edition of California Language Arts textbooks. As some of you know, I've always loved to cook and bake. For fun, over the past few years I've begun to compete at the Orange County Fair. I had my best year ever last year: 4 blue ribbons (oatmeal cookies, scones, biscotti, & bars), a red ribbon (muffins). My biscotti was the division winner! I've also enjoyed competing in table settings. I got a blue ribbon for my table setting in the holiday division. It's funny what takes our fancy sometimes, isn't it? I've loved reading about all our classmates, and I am so proud to be a part of such a distinguished group of graduates. I want to add my congratulations and admiration to everyone else's to Danette for doing such a splendid job of organizing the webpage and the reunion. I am very sorry that I was unable to make the 30th reunion. (I was at the 10th and 20th, though!) I have an idea for our next reunion : How about in a couple of years when we've all personally reached the half-century mark? Just a thought! :) 2012-08-06 15:21:59

Water Tech Single what? What have you been doing for the last 30 years? What a loaded question. I can't even remember what I had for breakfast this morning and they ask this question off the bat. Lots of different kinds of work. For the last 19 plus years I have worked in some capacity or another in water testing. 15 years of those at the infamous BKK Landfill in West Covina, working in the groundwater/environmental department. I started working at BKK in '90 with one of our classmates, Mitch Nelson. Unfortunately, Mitch was diagnosed with cancer in early '92 and passed away in May of '94. Currently, I work for a small water engineering firm in Covina. I still live in Hacienda Heights. After both my parents passed away, I moved back to Hacienda Heights and into the family home. I guess I can't complain, it's paid for. For fun I ride one of my motorcycles or work on one of my many car or motorcycle projects. For peace of mind, I enjoy riding my touring bike, the farther out of town the better. I know that there are quite a few of us Wilson classmates that are riding motorcycles. I think it would be great if we could hookup for a Sunday ride in the near future. Let me know if anyone is up for a Sunday ride. I hope to see some familiar faces at the reunion, and catch up with some of the classmates that I have lost touch with. 2012-08-06 14:51:05

Self Employed Photography Married 3 After my years at Wilson and thanks to Mr Wong allowing me to choose my life long career while still in high school, I graduated from MSAC and Long Beach State, both with degrees in photography. Also during those years, I worked at Vons, where I met my wife, who still works there today. But, then the entrepreneurial juices started flowing and rolled the first of many dice and quite my job and opened my own business, artistryfoto. Late in 1999 right before the 20th reunion, I moved to a facility that was more than I needed at the time, but didn't want to lose the opportunity and potential that the facility offered. Soon after the reunion, my wife was diagnosed with Cancer. When I see you all at the 30th and am asked what I've been doing for the past 10 years, I'll probably have the shortest answer: Taking care of Patty, celebrating the last 5 years of her remission and living life. Everything else is gravy. 2012-08-06 14:32:23

WOW!  That was probably one of the best reunions I've attended and I've photographed a lot over my career!  Great seeing you all and hope to hear from you!  I'm still getting used to that Facebook thing and trying to make time.  I'll touch base.  Drop me a line and I'll try to get back to you within the year, LOL!  The trying times of owning your own BIZ!

IMPORTANT NOTE:
INFO about the how to order that cool group shot (Fun one too) along with the individual & candids will be comin soon!

Married 3 1,000 Getting to know God...really. I have had a few triumphs and a few challenges, and the experiences have deepened my faith.

After college, I became a professional actress. However, I tired of the lifestyle (i.e. waiting tables more often than not), and I went into medicine, which was my first love -- that is, before having to do an insect collection and fetal pig dissection at Wilson! I became a paramedic in south central Los Angeles, and loved, loved, LOVED the work.

After moving to Colorado in 1991, where I worked as a ski area and search and rescue paramedic, I discovered my real love...my wonderful husband, Wolfgang. I retired, and we now homeschool our three children (ages 12, 10, and 8).

I will be missing the reunion, as I will be running my first half-marathon that weekend! Have a wonderful time!!

Attorney Married 1 1400??? Wow - It has been a long time! After graduation I went to Cal State Fullerton for two years and then spent a very fun summer traveling in Europe on the cheap with Sandy Licari. When I got back to the States I moved to Berkeley and graduated from UCB with a BA in Palaeontology in 1984. Moved back to LA and received my Masters in Marine Biology from UCLA in 1986. Wasted a year or two hanging out in the sun at Venice Beach while teaching at an alternative high school and then moved to Seattle in 1989 to go to UW Law School. Met my now husband at orientation and we have been together for almost 20 years now. Our wonderful son will be 11 in February. I've been working as a prosecuting attorney in Seattle for 16 years now and we like to spend our spare time hiking and cycling in the beautiful Pacific Northwest and traveling as much as possible, both in the States and abroad. 2012-08-06 14:32:23
